Please answer the following questions. If necessary, refer to your Camera Manual:
- Name all the functions/buttons on the front of your camera.

- Name all the functions/buttons on the back of your camera.

- Explain, in your own words, what ISO is and how you would set it.
Now take three images of the same scene at ISO 100, ISO 1600, and your camera’s highest ISO setting. Place them next to each other to see the impact this had and post them to your blog. (Remember to include details about your camera settings on your blog.)
ISO is one of the three elements used for controlling exposure in the photograph. It will either make your picture darker by lowering the ISO, or brighter by increasing it. If I want to change the ISO on my camera I first have to press the menu button, then go to ISO sensitivity. The camera I’m using have from 100-1600.
- Explain, in your own words, what aperture is and how you would change it.
Now take three images of the same scene and set your aperture to F22, F5.6, and F1.4, (or the lowest possible f-stop your lens would allow), respectively. Place them next to each other to see the impact this had and post them to your blog. Remember to include details about your camera settings on your blog.
Aperture refers to the opening of the camera lens. If the aperture is wide more light will be let in, and the smaller it gets less light will be let in through the lens. The aperture also decides the depth of field aka what’s in focus in your picture. When the aperture is low the whole scene is in focus, and when its high you will get very little focus in your image with a blurry background. To change the aperture on my camera I have to make sure that the camera is set to «A» position, then rotate the rear command dial to the right to increase or to the left to decrease aperture.
- Explain in your own words* what shutter speed is and how you would change it.
Now take three images of the same scene and set your shutter speed to 1/1000, 1/60, and 1/4, respectively. Place them next to each other to see the impact this had and post them to your blog.(Remember to include details about your camera settings on your blog.)
Shutter speed refers to how fast or slow the shutter closes. A slow shutter speed creates a long exposure, and a fast shutter speed creates a short exposure. A fast shutter speed is good for when you want to freeze something, a dog jumping etc. A slow shutter speed is good for when you want motion in the picture. The shutter speed is measured in fractions of a second. To change the shutter speed in my camera I have to make sure that the camera is set to «S» position which means Shutter Priority Auto and then rotate the rear to the left or right.
